Wow, this is so cool! I really like how it contrasts A Microfiche with natural images and incredibly poetic prose that describes the vibrant physicality of being alive :D I vaguely recall using a viewfinder once, although the memory might be made up in my mind, and I think you really capture the bright, almost vignetted nature of the images
This is just down-right beautiful. I love viewmasters, and have had them since i was small, and this felt so much like opening up the random packets of reels my Mum always seemed to have
Thanks for leaving the kindest comment 💜 I grew up in Asia and viewmasters were a “Western” marvel which I loved playing with whenever I could get my hands on them. They sold reels at street shops and it was always random too like dinosaurs or tourists spots!
I have loads of reels of American tourist attractions, some still there (Mount Rushmore for example) and some long gone (Futuristic gas stations, Tomorrowland) as well as short versions of popular movies and the like.
Also reels of educational subjects, like the landscape of the alps, or the lives of pearl fishermen.
Whoa, those sound so fun to look at. I’d love to someday see reels of tomorrowland, burning man, and EDM festivals when they didn’t become completely corporatized.
